MemeClub makes a party game. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect and why. We like memes a lot more than we like data.
What we collect
To run the game we store the basics: your display name, the email tied to your Google or Apple sign-in, your game stats (wins, points, rounds), the rooms you create or join, any interests you add to your profile (used to tailor prompts and memes to your group), and content you make such as custom packs and captions. That's it — we're a meme game, not a surveillance startup.
How we use it
To keep your account, sync your progress across devices, show leaderboards, and make the game actually work. We don't sell your personal data. Ever.
Images & content
Meme cards and uploads are stored so rounds work. Don't upload anything illegal or that isn't yours to share.
Multiplayer & social
MemeClub is multiplayer, so some things you do are visible to others in your game: your display name and avatar, the cards you play, your votes (anonymous during voting), and your online status to friends. If you add friends or chat, that activity is stored to make those features work. Optional voice chat is peer-to-peer between players — we don't record or store it.
Device permissions
Some features ask permission first and only run when you use them: the microphone (optional in-game voice chat — peer-to-peer between players, never recorded or stored), the camera and photo library (to set an avatar or upload a meme), and, for 'shake to join', Bluetooth and location (used only to find a game on a phone right next to yours). You can decline any of these and still play, and grant or revoke them anytime in your device settings.
Notifications
If you enable push notifications, we store a device push token to send you game invites and updates. You can turn notifications off anytime in your device settings.
Third parties
We use trusted providers to run the game: sign-in (Google, Apple, Supabase), payments and subscriptions (Apple and Google Play with RevenueCat for in-app purchases; Paddle for web purchases), media hosting (AWS, Cloudflare) and GIF search (KLIPY). They process data only to provide their service, under their own privacy policies.
Age
MemeClub contains mature humor and is not directed at children. You must meet the minimum age required in your country (at least 13, or higher where local law requires) to use it.
Your choices
You can request deletion of your account and data anytime by emailing support@memeclub.party, or delete your account in the app, and we'll take care of it. We keep data only as long as needed to run the game or as the law requires.
